Health behaviour change of interest: High-fat diet
Target audience: Obese adults
Theory: Theory of Planned Behaviour
Reasoning: We believe the best theory to alter a high-fat diet in obese adults would be to adapt the Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB) to their lifestyle. In order for the TPB to work, the target audience must develop a negative outlook on high-fat diet, as well as develop a positive attitude toward the new behaviour of healthy eating. This new positive outlook could be a result of gaining a perspective on the health issues related to a poor diet. Without this new and voluntary mindset, the TBP will cease to be effective. As this theory is implemented, it will instill a positive outlook for the individuals, which will then increase their level of self-efficacy. This will allow them to have confidence to try new foods rather than limiting themselves to the foods they feel more comfortable with, in this case high-fat foods. As mentioned by Povey and al. (2000), subjective norms play a large role in healthy eating behaviours.

Your response is clear and concise, but remember that your response must be “evidence-based”, meaning you support your statements by specifically citing your sources. Convince the reader that the selected theory is the best for this behaviour change, based on the evidence you have uncovered.
A review or meta-analysis can be very helpful as a source. If there are not any available, then it is worth indicating this in your response. Also, be sure to consider the quality of your evidence you are using.
